President's Column

Written by Dave Arieno,

Greetings fellow Fourwheelers,

This year has been eventful to say the least!  Attendance and membership have surpassed my wildest expectations, and our membership is stronger than ever.  The camaraderie and can-do attitudes have been infectious. As a result, we continue to grow closer as a group, benefiting both our community, and our sport.  I’m honored to be the president of such a great organization. My thanks to all of you!

The 2002 Alaska Extreme Fourwheelers Christmas party was enjoyed by all who attended.   We had a great turn-out of members and their families.  The “Potluck” idea worked very well, with an abundance of tasty delights!  Without doubt, the high-light of the evening was the 2002 Club Video.  Good food, good people, great entertainment; that’s what it’s all about folks!  My thanks to all who contributed to make this an event to remember!

Winter is finally upon us.  As we do every year, it’s time to think about required safety and trail equipment and readying our vehicles the upcoming year.  A little preventative maintenance goes a long way towards ensuring safe and fun trail rides.  We don't need any unsafe vehicles on trail runs, or breakage that could have been prevented.

Dues payment:  A new year is close at hand.  Annual club membership dues of $40.00 will be due in January, 2003.

The search for best venue for our club meetings has ended.  It looks like the winner for 2003 is Tony Roma’s on Tudor road.  They have the space for our growing membership, and the atmosphere and quality of food and drink are great.  Let’s thank Ryan Frost, Scott Hala , Sage Dennison, Macro, and anyone else who helped make this a reality.

Finally, don’t forget nominations for club officer positions!  Our club officers are the fabric that holds the club together.   Elections will be held

January, 2003.  Let’s make 2003 a year to remember!
