There was two interested articles in the Anchorage Daily News last week in regard to oxygenated fuel in the Anchorage Municipality.  As early as next winter we may no longer have to deal with ethanol in our fuel during the cold months.  Want more information?  Take a look at State may end subsidy on ethanol and Alaska would be exempted if bill passes reposted in the Archive Section.

There was an article in the paper last Tuesday about Murkowski seeking guaranteed access on federal lands, using an old law in regard to rights of way.  I believe this is in reference to RS2477, though it is never called out in the article.  The article is titled Murkowski seeks trails agreement and can be read here.  The article is also available from the Archive Section.

The Archive Section has been updated to included the most recent members meeting.  Also added are minutes from earlier this year.

On a different note.  There is now just 4 weekends left to get Pre-registration in for the Meet and Greet.  At that time the cost goes up by 5 dollars.  Also, more importantly, the sooner you register the smoother the event will go because the organizers will have an accurate head count.  Get those forms mailed in if you plan to attend!

On Sunday in the Anchorage Daily News there was an article published titled "Norton seeks to halt Western wilderness reviews".  This article has been added to the Archive Section and can be found here.  The article contains some positive statements made by the Interior Department in reference to providing multiple use of land.  Specific examples are given for Alaska and Utah therefore the article should be of interest to readers of this page.

Last Thursday we had a productive meeting.  Some of the topics on the agenda had to be delayed until next.  A variety of topics were covered, and in general members seemed to be getting excited about this up coming wheeling season.  Meeting minutes have been posted in the Archive section, and can be found here.

Club members got together for another regular meeting, after surviving a week of wind and cold that wreaked havoc on alot of Anchorage homes and businesses.  Luckily our usual meeting location still had roof and windows.  Meeting minutes have been posted in the Archive section, and can be found here.
