News Archive, January through February 2004

Once again Carrie Lance has done an excellent job with recording the minutes from our last regular club meeting.  Minutes from February 19 can be found here.  I was unable to attend the meeting, therefore I do not have much else to add.

Don't forget, Fur Rondy Parade coming up soon.  And members who have not yet paid their dues should plan on doing so at the next meeting or make other arrangements by email me.

On Feb. 5 we got together for another meeting and finally brought some resolution to some outstanding topics.  Changes to membership eligibility for prospective members has been revised.  The bylaws have been amended to require a nomination process and include some additional definitions.  The updated bylaws have been posted and can be found here.  Full meeting minutes will be posted when available.

Two new associate members were also voted in during the meeting, and the Members Rigs page has been updated to reflect the addition of Patrick Brown and Kyle Jones.  As well full members Nate Dionne and Gary Schemper have been added to the members page.

The next club meeting will be February 19.

January 22 rolled around, and our new president conducted his first full meeting.  A variety of topics were covered, including the status of the Meet and Greet and proposed changes to the membership eligibility.  The club also continues to grow with the addition of a new person being voted into the club, congratulations Gary (meat-gazer) Schemper.

On January 8th we kicked off the new year with elections for the all of the club officer positions.  It was our first regular meeting of the year, and while other topics were covered briefly, the main focus was to get through the elections.  A big thank you to all of the nominees.  I'd also like to thank Dave Arieno and Matt Cross for their hard work during the meeting distributing and counting ballots, the two of you kept things moving very smoothly.

Alaska Extreme Fourwheelers Board of Directors for 2004 is: Dan Lance, President; Kurt Hala, Vice President; Scott Hala, Membership Coordinator/Treasurer; Carrie Lance, Secretary; and Corey Menzel, Sergeant at Arms.
